On December 22, within the framework of the UNFPA Regional Project “Quality Data - Effective Policy”, the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee organized a video conference of specialists from the national statistical services of the CIS member states on statistics on the situation of youth and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Introductory remarks were made by the Deputy Chairman of the CIS Statistical Committee - Vladimir Naidulov, Head of the UN Social and Demographic Statistics Sector - Andres Vikat, Project Manager of the UNFPA Regional Office - Meger Omirzakov.
The conference agenda included reports on the formation of statistics on the situation of youth and the preparation by the CIS Statistical Committee of the brochure “Youth in the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Sustainable Development Goals”.
The national statistical services of the CIS member states prepared short presentations from the experience countries on the formation of statistics on the situation of youth and the goals of sustainable development.
The head of the Department of Living Standards Statistics and Population Surveys - Umid Madaminov, Head of the Department of Demography and Labor Statistics - Zoyir Yuldoshev, Deputy Head of the Department of Social Sphere and Sustainable Development Statistics - Jakhongir Kambarov from the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.
The conference participants exchanged suggestions and comments on the formation of data on youth and agreed to continue cooperation on the exchange of data in the CIS region.
