On February 4 of this year, in the city of Khiva, Khorezm region, the State Committee on Statistics and the Khokimiyat of the city of Khiva held a round table on the topic “Ongoing work on the population census in 2023”.
It was attended by Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics Makhmudjon Ziyadullayev, Khiva city Khokim Temur Davletov and responsible employees of the Khorezm Regional Statistics Department, activists of mahallas and representatives of the mass media.
The round table was opened by Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics Ziyadullayev Makhmudjon Jurakulovich.
Khokim of the city of Khiva T. Davletov, deputy of the Khiva City Council of People's Deputies A. Rakhimov, head of the Statistics Department of the Khorezm region A. Otamuratov and others also spoke at the event.
As noted at the meeting, the population census is a large-scale national event that allows you to get a “photo” of the country's population at a certain point in time and is a reliable source of information about the population.
The data of each citizen is of primary importance in conducting a population census, since, first of all, detailed data are collected on such indicators as the specific population, age, gender, citizenship, national composition, marital status, education, level of housing security, employment, sources of income.

The population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan will be held from 1 to 25 November 2023. It was also noted that in order to conduct the population census and testing of all normative documents 1 through 25 Nov 2021 in Khujaobod Andijan region, in the YukoriChirchik district, Tashkent region, city of Khiva in Khorezm region and Yashnobod district of the city of Tashkent will be held the census test mode.
At the end of the event, Goskomstat specialists provided detailed information on the issues of interest to the participants.
