From November 1 to November 25 of this year, in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 11, 2020 No. 710 "On measures for the preparation and conduct of the population census of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2023", the population census will be conducted in test mode. These events are planned in the Khojaabad region of the Andijan region, the Yukori Chirchik region of the Tashkent region, the city of Khiva, the Khorezm region and the Yashnabad region of the city of Tashkent.
In order to thoroughly prepare for this event, in May of this year in the regions where a pilot census is planned, it is planned to compile lists of housing and a complete update of the lists of apartments with a specification of the population.
For this purpose, on a contractual basis for a period of one month, 35 people are temporarily involved in the Khojaabad region, 37 people in the Yukori-Chirchik region, 22 people in the city of Khiva, 81 people in the Yashnabad region, a total of 175 people compiling lists of houses (registrars) , which were selected from among the employees of statistical bodies, housing and communal services, cadastral departments and other organizations.
In order to organize this work at a high-quality and high level, on April 28 of this year, practical training seminars began in these areas on the basis of a special program to train and improve the practical skills of registrars.
These seminars are organized by specialists of the State Committee on Statistics, territorial statistical bodies, as well as members of territorial commissions to assist in the conduct of district (city) population censuses.
At the seminars, registrars will be given methodological recommendations on compiling lists of housing on the basis of schematic maps of makhallas prepared by cadastral authorities, instructions for clarifying the population size and completely updating the lists of apartments, and will also conduct practical exercises with selective visits to makhallas.
The seminars will also continue on April 29-30.
