At a meeting on measures to improve national statistics chaired by the head of state on June 1, 2020, the issue of human resources was raised and instructions were given to train and improve the skills of all specialists of the statistical system.
In order to ensure the fulfillment of these tasks, the State Committee on Statistics takes measures of practical importance.
On May 3 of this year, an event was held dedicated to the signing of a memorandum between the State Committee on Statistics and the Tashkent State University of Economics and the opening of the "Scientific and Practical Laboratory of Statistics".
The event was attended by the Head of the State Committee on Statistics and the heads of the central office, the Director of the Institute for Advanced Training and Statistical Research, the Rector of the Tashkent State University of Economics, the faculty, students and mass media.
The event was opened by the Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics Begalov Bakhodir Abdusalomovich and the rector of the Tashkent State University of Economics Sharipov Kongratboy Avezimbetovich.
At the meeting, a memorandum was signed, prepared jointly with the State Committee on Statistics and the Tashkent State University of Economics, designed for the further implementation of bilateral cooperation.
The event also hosted the opening ceremony of the joint "Scientific and Practical Laboratory of Statistics". The speakers exchanged views on the role of statistical indicators in the economic and social life of the country, as well as on the work being done to further strengthen the mutual integration of state organizations in the higher education system.
The chairman of the committee emphasized that the main purpose of creating this “Scientific and Practical Laboratory of Statistics” is to increase the scientific potential of personnel in the field of statistics. The creation of such scientific and practical opportunities for students in the future will create the basis for training potential personnel for statistical departments and expanding the number of research scientists who have made a worthy contribution to the development of our country.
The main objectives of this laboratory are:
- establishment of innovative and corporate cooperation based on the implementation of innovative cooperation between education, science and industry;
- training and professional development of personnel in the field of statistics;
- the introduction of modern achievements of science in the sectors of the economy on the basis of priority directions for the development of science, fundamental and applied research;
- ensuring the mutual integration of academic science with higher education and production through the phased organization of research and educational research centers, creating the necessary conditions for the implementation of the creative and intellectual potential of youth;
- implementation of comprehensive measures to support young scientists and innovative cooperation between higher education, science and industry;
- creation of joint projects to study trends in economic development and implementation of their results into the practice of national economic reforms on an innovative basis;
- creation of a bank of topical problematic topics for the further development of the State Committee on Statistics activities in the future and conducting joint research on these topics;
- preparation and publication of scientific papers on topical problematic topics, organization of seminars and conferences;
- effective organization of internships and qualification practices for teaching staff, senior research fellows-applicants, undergraduate and graduate students at TSUE;
- involvement of the leading employees of the State Committee on Statistics in the educational process.
Presentations of students of the Tashkent State University of Economics on the topics “Use of drones in the population census” and “Alternative methods of calculating the consumer price index” were heard, the questions of interest to students were given comprehensive answers by specialists in the field.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the continuation of cooperation between the State Committee on Statistics and the Tashkent State University of Economics, improving the qualifications of personnel in the field of statistics.
