In accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 11, 2020 No. 710, from November 1 to 25, 2021 in the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region, the Yukori Chirchik district of the Tashkent region, the city of Khiva, the Khorezm region and the Yashnabad district of the city of Tashkent, it is planned to conduct a population census in a test mode.
Employees of the Department for the Organization and Conduct of the Census Processes of the State Statistics Committee visited the regions in order to familiarize themselves with the preparation process for the census.
In particular, the employees of the Department of Organization and Conduct of the Census Processes, together with representatives of the organization LLC “PIXYZ”, responsible for the creation of the population census program, expressed their suggestions and comments on making appropriate changes and additions to the program.
At the meetings organized, the representatives of the committee presented their proposals and recommendations on the high-quality and efficient organization of the pilot census.
The population census will help to obtain detailed information on the population of Uzbekistan in a certain period, its age, sex, religious and ethnic composition, marital status, educational level, housing provision, economic activity, sources of income. It will also be used to calculate the distribution of macroeconomic indicators per capita and labor resources, as well as the migration situation.
