In January 2022, the foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 3.5 billion US dollars.

The retail trade turnover in January 2022 reached 18 426.5 billion soums and increased by 15.8% compared to the same period in 2021.

At the end of January 2022, the foreign trade turnover of the republic reached 3498.2 million US dollars, which, compared to the same period in 2020, increased by 1164.2 million US dollars (an increase of 49.9%).

In January 2022, newly created enterprises in the field of information and communication increased by 1.8 times compared to the corresponding period in 2017.

In the republic in January, the number of newly created enterprises and organizations (excluding farms and dekhkan farms) increased by 1.7 times compared to the corresponding period of 2017, in terms of years:

At the end of 2021, the share of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in the GDP of the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 26.9% against 27.1% in 2020.

Currently, the service sector is one of the most promising and rapidly developing sectors of the economy. The range of activities related to it is quite wide and extends from trade, transport, communications and information to financing, insurance, education and health care, as well as a wide variety of mediation.

In January-December 2021, high growth in education services was noted in Kashkadarya (43.9 %), Syrdarya (43.7 %), Surkhandarya (42.0 %), Samarkand (34.3 %) and Namangan ( 32.6 %) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (36.3 %).

According to preliminary data, in January 2022, enterprises of the republic produced industrial products worth 32.9 trillion soums, the index of physical volume* of industrial production compared to the same period in 2021 amounted to 108.5%. In the structure of production, the largest share falls on manufacturing enterprises (78.0%), the volume of production of which amounted to 25.7 trillion soums.

In January-December 2021, high growth in road transport services was achieved in Samarkand (24.2%), Namangan (22.5%), Jizzakh (22.1%), Fergana (21.5%), Kashkadarya (19 .9%) and Surkhandarya (19.4%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (21.6%).

At the end of 2021, the share of construction in the GDP of the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 6.7% (in 2020 - 6.7%).

In January of this year, in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the volume  of construction work performed amounted to 6 956.2 billion soums

At a meeting on measures to improve national statistics chaired by the head of state on June 1, 2020, the issue of human resources was raised and instructions were given to train and improve the skills of all specialists in the statistical system.

As we reported earlier, the Committee’s specialists took part in training seminars to study the experience of the Republic of Belarus in conducting a population census in Minsk from January 31 to February 5, 2022.

As of January 1, 2022, the total number of sheep and goats in the republic reached 23,074.3 thousand heads, and the growth rate, compared to the same period in 2021, amounted to 102.7%.
