This webinar is part of the CESRIC webinar series for the exchange of statistical experience in the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The Goskomstat was represented by Abdugafur Mirzokhidov, Head of the Service Sector Statistics Department and employees of the Department of Comprehensive Statistical Observations in the Service Sector, Transport and Information Infrastructure and the Department for the Formation of Summary Analytical Information and Indicators of Service Sector Development Programs.

During the event, the participants were presented with presentations on topics such as statistics of vehicles, road accidents, road vehicles - statistics of mileage, as well as transport statistics in achieving the SDGs.

The workshop participants noted that statistics on transport components, especially motor vehicles, traffic intensity and safety, including road accidents, are critical for countries to design and develop effective transport systems and infrastructures within a coherent and comprehensive policy framework.

Participation in the seminar will improve the methodology for collecting statistical information on transport and will serve to achieve the goals set by the roadmap for the implementation of the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics for 2020-2025.

In accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 11, 2020 No. 710, from November 1 to 25, 2021, in the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region, the Yukori Chirchik district of the Tashkent region, the city of Khiva, the Khorezm region and the Yashnabad district of the city of Tashkent, it is planned to conduct a population census in a trial mode.

According to preliminary data for January-March 2021, the share of income from small businesses in the total total income of the population amounted to 51.6%. By regions, the largest share was observed in the Jizzakh region (62.1%).

Together with the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia and Eurostat, a video conference was organized on the topic “Data as value for society in the digital age”.
