On September 13 this year, an online training course on social protection statistics was launched at the State Committee on Statistics. This online training course will be delivered by experts from the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reform of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the Statistical Capacity Building Program (StatCaB) with the assistance of the Center for Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training for Islamic Countries (SESRIC).
This online training course will run from 13 to 17 September this year. It will cover the following topics: the institutional framework of gender equality and the main directions of gender policy in Kazakhstan; the history of the development of gender statistics (GS) in Kazakhstan; National system of indicators of GS in Kazakhstan and international recommendations of the United Nations; the main data sources used for the production of GS in Kazakhstan; review of sample surveys in the field of GS (violence against women, generations and gender, etc.) conducted in Kazakhstan; dissemination of HS data and interaction with users and data producers in Kazakhstan; methodological approaches to the formation of R&D and innovation statistics; sampling and organization of the sample; living standards statistics, methods of calculating poverty indicators and new directions in the development of poverty statistics.
Also, on the online training course on social protection statistics will be considered: the main sources of data on the population and its socio-demographic characteristics; methodology and data generation on demographic statistics, statistics of education, health care and social security; and experience in conducting surveys (multi-indicator cluster research, the level of public confidence in law enforcement agencies).
Employees of the Departments of Organization and Methodology of Statistical Works, International cooperation and information exchange; Demography and labor statistics, Living standards statistics and population surveys, as well as employees of the Department of Social Sphere and Sustainable Development Statistics take part in the online training course on the part of Goskomstat.
