On September 27 this year, a technical assistance mission on national accounts statistics began its work online at the State Committee on Statistics. This mission will be conducted by Levan Gogoberishvili – Economist of Real Sector Division at the IMF Regional Center for Capacity Development for the Caucasus, Central Asia and Mongolia (CCAMTAC).
During the work of the above-mentioned mission, the following topics will be discussed: the current state of the formation of indicators of national accounts statistics for discrete quarters; formation of the volume and index of industrial production for discrete periods and the current state of its calculation based on benchmarking; formation of the volume and index of construction work for discrete periods and the current state of their calculation based on benchmarking; the formation of the volume and index of agricultural production for discrete periods and the current state of its calculation based on benchmarking, as well as the formation of the volume and index of market services for discrete periods and the current state of their calculation based on benchmarking.
This mission will involve staff from the Macroeconomic Indicators and National Accounts Departments; investment and construction statistics; industry statistics; statistics of agriculture and ecology, as well as employees of the Department of statistics of the service sector of the central office of Goskomstat.
On the first day of the work of the remote technical assistance mission on national accounts statistics, the staff of the Office of Macroeconomic Indicators and National Accounts participates in it.
This mission will last until September 30 of this year.
