According to the State Committee on Statistics, as of October 1, 2021, the number of operating business entities (excluding farms and dekhkan farms) amounted to 475 349, of which small businesses – 472 273 (99.4 percent).
High indicators of the number of operating small businesses were noted in the following regions:

Kashkadarya region - 31 903
The number of small businesses by type of economic activity is distributed as follows:
in trade - 156 928 pieces
in industry - 93 054 pcs.
in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 47 094
in construction - 44 845
in the field of accommodation and food services - 33 635
