On October 15 this year, a final meeting with the head of the technical assistance mission on national accounts statistics was held online at the State Committee on Statistics.
As a reminder, the technical assistance mission on national accounts statistics was conducted from September 27 to October 8 under the leadership of Mr. Levan Gogoberishvili, Real Sector Statistics Advisor of the IMF Regional Center for Capacity Development for the Caucasus, Central Asia and Mongolia (CCAMTAC).
The mission was devoted to the discussion of the current state of the formation of indicators of national accounts statistics for discrete quarters; formation of the volume and index of industrial production for discrete periods; formation of the volume and index of construction work for discrete periods; the formation of the volume and index of agricultural production for discrete periods; formation of the volume and index of market services for discrete periods; the current state of the calculation of industry statistics based on benchmarking.
The final meeting of the work of this mission was attended by the Heads of departments and employees of the Central Office of the Committee, headed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics Agzam Ikramov.
The parties discussed the successful implementation of the tasks set within the framework of this mission, some recommendations of the IMF experts on the development of discrete estimates of quarterly national accounts and issues of further cooperation to improve national accounts statistics and other topical issues on the agenda.
As a result of the negotiations, agreements were reached to continue discussing the results with experts in the framework of upcoming missions on national accounts statistics and to start publishing discrete statistical data on the Goskomstat website, as part of the transition to the IMF's Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS).
