According to the results for 2021, the share of industry in the GDP of the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 27.8 %.
In the period under review, the share of the manufacturing industry in the structure of the value added of the industrial sector increased to 77.4 % against 77.2 % in 2020. Accordingly, there was an increase in the share of the mining industry and quarrying up to 15.2% (in 2020 - 14.8 %).
In the structure of the value added of the manufacturing industry, the largest share fell on the metallurgical and metalworking industries (except for machinery and equipment), which reached 40.9 %. The share of production of textiles, clothing, leather goods and related products amounted to 13.9 %, food, beverages and tobacco products - 13.6 %.
