On February 8, 2022, a regular meeting of the Academic Council for the award of academic degrees in economic sciences was held under the number DSc.29/30.12.2019.I.92.01 at the Institute for Advanced Training and Statistical Research under the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.
For the first time in the history of this Council, the dissertation work of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) employee of the Central Office of the Committee - Deputy Head of the Department of Macroeconomic Indicators and National Accounts Mamadjanov Abrorali Ashiralievich was defended on the topic “Improving auxiliary accounting of tourism in the system of national accounts of Uzbekistan” in the specialty 08.00.06 – “Econometrics and Statistics”.
The defense of the dissertation was considered by a jury consisting of 14 doctors of sciences, professors in statistics and econometrics.
The defense of this dissertation work was monitored online by the heads of sectoral departments of the central office, headed by the chairman of the State Committee on Statistics Begalov Bakhodir Abdusalomovich. Committee Chairman B. Begalov acted as a scientific opponent in this dissertation work and expressed his opinion on the importance of scientific work in the further improvement of the statistical system.
Based on the results of the defense, a decision was made to award the doctoral degree (PhD) in economics to the dissertation candidate, and the decision of the council was proposed for approval by the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission.
