In order to ensure the implementation of the resolution of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis “On approval of the strategy for achieving gender equality in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030” and ensuring gender equality in the system of the State Committee on Statistics, employees of the central office organized seminars in the Departments of Statistics of the Fergana and Surkhandarya regions.
In her speech, the chairman of the Women's Committee, Tolipova Zulhumor Normatovna, noted that the achievement of gender equality in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030 would further increase the authority of Uzbekistan in the international arena. Z. Tolipova also gave explanations and comments on the law “On Guarantees of Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men”.
Information was also provided that in each system, together with the gender commission, international organizations, experts, as well as relevant ministries and departments, work is being carried out to ensure gender equality.
During the seminar, the participants were acquainted with a number of documents relating to the protection of the rights and interests of women. The experts of the Committee gave exhaustive answers to the questions of interest to the participants.
