On June 21, 2022, a round table was organized at the State Statistics Committee on the content and significance of the new law "On Official Statistics", changes and concepts being introduced into practice, as well as transport statistics.
The event was attended by employees of the central office of the State Statistics Committee, faculty, researchers and masters of the Tashkent State Transport University.



During the round table, the participants were provided with detailed information about the essence and significance of the new law "On Official Statistics", changes and concepts introduced by the law into practice.
In particular, the new law provides the necessary, solid legal basis for full compliance with the fundamental principles of official statistics in the country, as recommended by the international statistical community.
In short, we can say that the new Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Official Statistics" not only regulates the functioning of the national statistical system, but also ensures the effectiveness of reforms to ensure openness and transparency of official statistics, meet the needs of users in reliable, high-quality and up-to-date official statistics, and also undoubtedly will serve to further enhance the prestige of the country at the international level.



Also at the event, Abdugafir Mirzahidov, head of the Department of Statistics of the Services Sector, made a report on the statistics of the transport sector. Representatives of the university received answers to their questions from specialists in the form of a direct open dialogue.
As a result of the round table, an agreement was reached with the Tashkent State Transport University to hold such events on a regular basis, as well as to organize practical classes for students. The issue of signing a memorandum with the university was also considered.
