At a meeting on measures to improve national statistics chaired by the head of state on June 1, 2020, the issue of human resources was raised and instructions were given to train and improve the skills of all specialists in the statistical system.
In order to ensure the fulfillment of these tasks, a memorandum was signed between the State Committee on Statistics and the Tashkent State Economic University, in which the “Scientific and Practical Laboratory of Statistics” was opened. It regularly hosts various events of practical importance.
On November 9 of this year, the head of the Department of Demography and Labor of the State Committee on Statistics, Zoyir Yuldashev, held a practical master class at the Tashkent State Economic University on the topic: "Demographic indicators of the Republic of Uzbekistan: formation procedure and sources".
The purpose of this meeting is to increase the knowledge and skills of students about the procedure and methods for calculating demographic indicators generated and published by statistical authorities.
During the master class, general concepts of demographic indicators and methods for its calculation, the experience of calculating demographic indicators in Uzbekistan, the main directions for improving the methodology for calculating demographic indicators, and analyzing the demographic indicators of Uzbekistan were discussed.
Students, masters, researchers, higher education institutions in general are the main users of statistical information. The importance of this meeting is that the statistical information is understandable and transparent for all users.
A permanent continuation of such practically significant master classes has been established. At these master classes, students and applicants receive answers to their questions in the field of statistics and acquire practical knowledge and skills in the formation of statistical indicators.
