From February 29 to March 1, 2024, a regional seminar on “Methods for the development and calculation of e-commerce volumes in Central Asia” was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, with the assistance of the World Bank. Deputy Director of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Agzam Ikramov and employees of the Agency's central office took part in it online.

The forum was attended by representatives of statistical agencies of Canada, Albania, Slovenia, Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan, experts from international organizations such as UNCTAD, e-GATE of the World Bank and representatives of large trading platforms such as Alibaba, as well as Sherzod Muminov from the Department of Statistics of Foreign Economic Activity and Trade and the Department of Statistics of the Service Sector Khan Elena Afanasyevna.

The seminar was opened by Deputy Director of the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Agzam Ikramov with an introductory speech.

During the event, participants discussed global challenges in measuring the volume of e-commerce and identified the basis for the development of standardized methodologies for tracking e-commerce in the region, contributing to the overall development of the digital economy in Central Asia.
