On March 27, 2024, a presentation was held at the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the results of the ninth seminar on the topic “Implementation of an environmental-economic accounting system”, organized on March 18-20 this year in Geneva (Switzerland) by the National Statistical Institutions of Australia, Canada, Estonia, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United States, as well as international organizations Eurostat, IMF, UNEP, UNSD, OECD and UNECE.


According to the presentation, the Agency’s employees were informed of the knowledge and skills acquired during the seminar by Dekhkanova Nigora, the chief specialist of the Department for the formation of consolidated analytical information on agricultural statistics of the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Statistics.


Participants got acquainted with the experience of European and CIS countries in creating and using the relevant System of Environmental-Economic Accounting accounts to measure the circular economy, the activities of international organizations supporting countries in managing and measuring the transition to a circular economy with the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting, updated relevant classifications .

Also during the presentation, the current state of the formation of the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting in the participating countries was discussed and answers to questions from participants were presented in detail.
