From April 15 to 19, 2024, a regional seminar on calculating housing price indices organized by the International Monetary Fund was held in Tbilisi (Gruziya).
The seminar was attended by the national statistical offices of Georgia, Uzbekistan, Jordan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Armenia, Pakistan, Tunisia and Tajikistan, as well as employees of the Central Bank.
The event was also attended by the head of the Price Statistics Department of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Egamshukurov Zainiddin Sodikovich and a specialist of the 1st category Dzhumanazarov Kamolbek Shavkatovich.
Also at the seminar, representatives of the Statistics Agency made a presentation on the work done in recent years on price statistics, in particular on the results achieved through the introduction of digital technologies into the process.
At the meeting, explanations were given on the methods of verification, analysis and formation of the weight composition of housing market data. The reports of experts from the International Monetary Fund, Barra Casey and Norbert Pfeiffer, were also heard, experience was also exchanged on calculating the housing price index and the practice of developed countries and calculation methods were studied.
