On May 3 of this year, the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with experts from the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

The event was attended by the staff of the central office of the Statistics Agency and ESCAP experts – Richard Tonkin, Eric Deeben and Sergei Goussev.

This meeting was organized within the framework of the project "Strengthening the capacity of national statistical offices in the Asia-Pacific region to use new, innovative and large-scale data sources".

Also during the event, issues of improving existing sources of statistical data within the framework of the project, price statistics, the processes of collecting, processing, analyzing and distributing data infrastructure, the use of geospatial data in statistics, as well as the development of the field of open data were discussed.

The meeting also discussed national goals and objectives in the field of sustainable development, as well as issues of cooperation in the field of statistics.
