On May 10 of this year, the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an online meeting with experts from the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
Representatives of the central office of the Statistics Agency and ESCAP experts – Richard Tonkin, Eric Dieben and Elena Hristev attended the event.
The meeting was established as part of the project” Strengthening the capacity of the National statistical offices of the Asia-Pacific region to use new, innovative and Big Data sources".
The issues of using geospatial data in the field of statistics, visualization of official statistics data, as well as providing methodological and practical assistance in working with GIS technologies were also discussed during the event.
Representatives of the Cadaster agency under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan as user and owner of geospatial data in the Republic of Uzbekistan also participated in the meeting.
