Based on the tasks outlined in the Decree No. PQ-114 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 4, 2024, an international certification audit was conducted in August of this year at the central office of the Statistics Agency. The audit was performed by international auditors from the certification body "Central Asia Certification" to assess the Agency’s compliance with international standards.
As a result of the audit, a decision was made in September to award the international certification. Consequently, the Statistics Agency's activities, including the preparation and dissemination of official statistics, successfully passed the certification process for the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
In this regard, on October 4, 2024, at the conclusion of the II International Statistics Forum of the CIS, a ceremony was held at the Statistics Agency to present the ISO 9001 international certificate for the implementation of the quality management system.
The certificate was officially handed over to the Director of the Statistics Agency by Khalida Mukhammadova, Director of "Central Asia Certification" LLC, the representative office of the international certification body TÜV AUSTRIA Group.
To achieve this certification, the following actions were carried out at the Statistics Agency:
- Firstly, a private consulting company was hired to conduct an audit and analysis of the management system of the Statistics Agency.
- Secondly, 20 specialist employees of the Agency received training in the ISO 9001:2015 standard and were certified accordingly.
- Thirdly, with the assistance of the consulting company, the "National Quality Management Manual" was developed, approved by the Director of the Statistics Agency, and implemented into the system.
- Fourthly, as a practical result of the measures taken, the quality of statistical data preparation (collection, processing, analysis) and dissemination processes within the statistical bodies and their affiliated organizations has been ensured.
In conclusion, the priority goal is to improve the efficiency and quality of the Agency’s activities, fully ensuring the rights of respondents and users, and preparing official statistical data based on internationally recognized recommendations and methodologies within the global statistical community.
