On February 20 of this year, an online seminar was organized at the Statistics Agency to ensure the implementation of the tasks defined in the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 4, 2024 No. PP-114 "On measures to organize the activities of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan," as well as within the framework of the preparation and consideration of regulatory documents of the 56th session of the UN Statistical Commission, which will be held on March 4-7, 2025.

The main purpose of the workshop was consultations on the 2025 SDG Indicator Review, developed jointly by the Inter-agency and Expert Group on SDG Indicators and the United Nations Statistical Commission.

The workshop was attended by Ulugbek Noipov, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Data Exchange, Dilshod Zakirov, Head of the Department of Organization and Methodology of Statistical Work, Jakhongir Kambarov, Deputy Head of the Department of Social and Sustainable Development Statistics.

Recall that the United Nations Statistical Commission, established in 1947, is the highest body of the global statistical system. Commission brings together the heads of statistical offices of UN member states from all over the world. Commission is the main decision-making body in the field of international statistical activities, in particular, the development of statistical standards, concepts and methodologies and their implementation internationally and nationally. Commission is also a functional commission of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOS), helping the council to develop national statistical systems and ensure the comparability of National Statistics, coordinate the activities of UN specialized statistics agencies in and improve statistics and methodology.

The workshop was attended by experts from the statistical offices of UN member states.
