On April 8 of this year, a regular meeting was held at the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan with representatives of the International Monetary Fund's technical assistance mission.


The event was attended by department heads of the central office, led by the Chairman of the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, along with Patrick Lochevsky, Executive Director of the Swiss Group of the International Monetary Fund, Yasser Abdikh, head of the mission for Uzbekistan, Koba Gvenatadze, head of the representative office in Uzbekistan, and other specialists.

The meeting discussed issues related to the formation of official statistical indicators, including the volume and growth rate of the private sector in the economy, GDP statistics and the role of state enterprises and the shadow economy in its structure, as well as trade indicators.

At the event, an agreement was also reached on the implementation of SDDS (a special standard that defines the procedure for providing economic, financial, and other statistical information to the public) and the continuation of technical assistance.
