From April 28 to 30 of this year, a seminar on the "Consumer Price Index" was organized in Geneva, Switzerland, by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO).
The seminar was attended by representatives from the statistical agencies and central banks of 50 European and Asian countries, as well as delegates from 15 international organizations.
The Republic of Uzbekistan was represented at the event by Shakhnoza Ismailova, Head of the Producer and Consumer Price Statistics Department of the Price Statistics Directorate under the National Statistics Committee.
The main objective of the meeting was to encourage the use of best practices in the field of the Consumer Price Index, as well as to introduce new alternative data sources and study their methodologies for calculating the index.
