On May 14 of this year, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) launched an international training seminar on the topic “Harmonizing Industrial Statistics of Uzbekistan with International Standards.”

The event is attended by experts from prestigious international organizations, as well as representatives from the central office and regional departments of the State Committee on Statistics of Uzbekistan.

The seminar was opened by Deputy Chairman of the National Statistics Committee A. Ikramov and UNIDO Consultant Shyam Upadhyaya. Following the opening remarks, presentations were delivered by representatives of the State Committee on Statistics on topics such as “Results and Prospects of Reforms Aimed at Improving the Efficiency of Uzbekistan’s National Statistical System and Industrial Statistics,” “Digital Technologies in the National Statistical System,” and “Reforms in the Maintenance of Statistical Registers and Systematic Service Provision: Achievements and Future Prospects.” International experts also presented on topics including “Statistical Registers in the Republic of Kazakhstan” and “Enterprise Demography: Indicators and Analysis.”

The seminar aims to harmonize Uzbekistan’s industrial statistics with international standards, enhance the accuracy and reliability of data, and strengthen international cooperation in the field while bringing experience exchange to a new level.
