From June 9 to 13, 2025, a technical assistance mission on national accounts statistics was conducted at the State Committee on Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by Levan Gogoberishvili, Real Sector Advisor at the IMF's Capacity Development Center for the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia.
The main objective of the mission was to enhance the knowledge and skills of staff in compiling discrete indicators by economic sectors, as well as to explore ways to improve data sources needed for compiling these indicators.
In addition, during the mission, issues related to the implementation of the tasks outlined in the "Roadmap for Further Deepening Reforms in the Field of Official Statistics," approved by the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-75 dated February 24, 2025, were discussed. These included the compilation of institutional sector accounts, the formation of indicators for the government sector, and the improvement of statistical assessment methods for the non-observed economy.
Mission participants addressed their questions to the IMF expert and received relevant recommendations for improving indicator calculations.
