On June 24 of this year, a meeting was held at Tashkent State University of Economics organized by the National Statistics Committee with students studying in the field of "Statistics."
The event was attended by the Chairman of the National Statistics Committee, responsible officials of the central office, as well as the university leadership, professors, and students.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the National Statistics Committee and Tashkent State University of Economics.
Within the framework of the memorandum, in accordance with Presidential Decree No. PF-27 dated February 24, 2025, the parties agreed to establish a branch of the Department of Economic Statistics under the Committee, organize effective professional internships for students, introduce the "Best Statistician" competition and scholarships, jointly carry out scientific research projects, send professors on internships abroad based on international experience, and develop innovative products and implement them in practice.
In addition, both parties agreed to further improve the “Scientific-Practical Laboratory of Statistics” aimed at increasing the scientific potential of personnel in the field of statistics.
At the end of the event, students and teachers who submitted the best proposals for improving the national statistical system, as well as 2nd-year student Madina Botir qizi Usmonova, who won 2nd place in the individual competition at the 3rd International Student Olympiad on Statistics held in Moscow, were awarded commemorative gifts by the National Statistics Committee.
