From June 23 to 27, 2025, a meeting was held at the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the Regional Statistician of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for Europe and Central Asia. The purpose of the meeting was to provide technical and consultative support for conducting the population and agricultural censuses in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, responsible staff of the central office, FAO Regional Statistician for Europe and Central Asia Ms. Rasmiya Aliyeva, as well as representatives of the FAO Office in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, recommendations were reviewed for conducting the agricultural census jointly with the population census in accordance with the FAO World Programme for the Census of Agriculture (WCA 2020). Technical guidance on definitions and methodologies was provided, the program for the population and agricultural censuses was studied, the readiness of the census information system for entering and processing agricultural data was discussed, the questionnaire forms were reviewed, and recommendations were given on integrating modules related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
