In the Republic of Uzbekistan, in January - October 2020, 4,886 operating textile enterprises produced products worth 26.9 trillion soums. The index of the physical volume of textile production compared to January-October 2019 was 112.3%.
At the same time, there is an increase in the production of:
- cotton yarn-by 8.7 %;
- cotton fabrics containing 85% or more of cotton fibers-by 18.8 %;
- packaging bags and packages - by 24.4 %.
The largest share in the total production of textile products by enterprises of the Republic falls on the Ferghana region 14.9% (724 operating enterprises), the Tashkent region 10.5% (393), the Samarkand region 10.2% (359), the Bukhara region 8.4% (321) and the city of Tashkent 8.4% (797).
For reference: in January-October of this year, the export of textile products amounted to 1,524. 7 million US dollars, which accounted for 11.4% of the total export volume of the Republic and increased by 15.9% compared to the corresponding period last year.
Since the beginning of the year, 522 types of textile products have been exported to 65 countries.
