November 24 this year, held a webinar on the topic: "Enhancing food security in the OIC countries: a review of food balance sheet" organized by Food and agriculture organization of the UN (FAO) and the Center for statistical, economic and social research and training for Islamic countries (SESRIC).
It was attended by responsible employees of the Department of agricultural and environmental statistics of the State Committee on Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event was also followed by international experts and representatives of more than 30 OIC member countries.
The webinar presented the experience of countries in the Middle East and North Africa in compiling the food balance. FAO food balance experts presented a new methodology and presentations on the relationship of the food balance to the Sustainable development Goals.
During the event, the participants exchanged views on strengthening statistical capacity and improving the experience of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in particular, on the consideration of the food balance.
