On December 1, 2020, a videoconference meeting was held with the mission of the World Bank Group.
On behalf of the State Committee on Statistics, the meeting was headed by the Deputy Chairman for Social Statistics - Mahmudjon Dzhurakulovich Ziyadullaev. In his welcoming speech, the Deputy Chairman noted the role of World Bank experts in the process of preparing the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2020-2025, close partnerships that have developed during the implementation of joint projects.
As part of the preparation of the Country Economic Memorandum (EMS) for Uzbekistan, the purpose of this mission is to discuss recent government reforms in the field of macroeconomic and tax management, liberalization of prices and trade, state-owned enterprises and state-owned banks, as well as the provision of educational, medical and social services.
The heads of the sectoral departments of price statistics, demography and labor statistics, statistics of foreign economic activity and trade, maintenance and systemic maintenance of statistical registers answered questions from World Bank experts about price regulation, external import tariffs, wages of public sector employees and representatives of the private sector.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue mutual cooperation.
