On January 15 this year, a meeting was held in the khokimiyat of the city of Khiva, Khorezm region, dedicated to the results of the survey conducted by the Republican working group on preparation for the population census.
Deputy Head of the Department for the Organization and Conduct of the Census Processes of the State Committee on Statistics Sherzod Dusnaev, Head of the Statistics Department of the Khorezm Region Asfandier Otamuratov, the leadership of the khokimiyat of the city of Khiva and others made reports on the topic.
In particular, the seminar provided information on the work carried out in pursuance of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 710 of November 11, 2020 “On measures to prepare and conduct the population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2023”.
It should be noted that a working group consisting of representatives of the State Statistics Committee and responsible territorial statistical bodies is studying schematic plans and maps of settlements in the city of Khiva.
In the course of the research, the clarity of the boundaries of quarters and settlements, the establishment of street name signs, the numbering of houses and apartments are studied.
Also, local residents were given explanations about the essence and significance of the population census, its goals and role in the further socio-economic life of the country.
Similar events will be organized according to the plan in other regions.
For information: By the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 11, 2020 "On measures to prepare and conduct a population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2023", it was established that from November 1 to 25, 2021, in the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region, the Yukorichirchik district of the Tashkent region, the city of Khiva, Khorezm region and Yashnabad district of the city of Tashkent, a population census will be conducted in a test order.
