On February 10, 2021, the International Monetary Fund held an online seminar at the State Committee on Statistics on the topic “Improving quarterly national accounts by introducing the practice of calculating indicators of economic statistics based on discrete quarters”.
The event was attended by Levan Gogoberishvili, an expert on national accounts statistics of the Department of Statistics of the International Monetary Fund, and employees of the central office of the State Committee on Statistics.
The main goal of the event is to introduce in Uzbekistan the practice of collecting, generalizing and analyzing short-term economic statistics for discrete periods, as well as increasing the experience of Goskomstat specialists in this direction.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue interaction on the implementation of industry statistics and the calculation of national accounts indicators for discrete periods.
