On April 14, 2021, a seminar was held at the Samarkand Regional Institute of Economics and Service on the topic “The relevance of the population census”.
The seminar, organized by the department “Organization and implementation of census processes” of the statistics department of the Samarkand region, was attended by specialists in the field, teachers and students of the institute.

As it was noted at the meeting, the census is a large-scale event of a nationwide scale that allows you to take a “photograph” of the country's population over a certain period of time and is a reliable source of information about the population.
The data of each citizen is of paramount importance in the conduct of a population census, since, first of all, detailed data are collected on such indicators as the specific population, age, sex, citizenship, ethnic composition, marital status, education, level of housing, employment, sources of income.
At the end of the seminar, specialists provided answers to questions of interest to the participants.
