In accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 11, 2020 No. 710, from November 1 to 25, 2021 in the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region, the Yukori Chirchik district of the Tashkent region, the city of Khiva, the Khorezm region and the Yashnabad district of the city of Tashkent, it is planned to conduct a population census in a test mode.
Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics Ziyadullaev Mahmudjon Dzhurakulovich visited the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region to familiarize himself with the process of preparing training seminars on the population census.
Mahmudjon Ziyadullaev gave his suggestions and recommendations on the high-quality and efficient organization of a pilot population census, digitization of apartments on the basis of an animated map, as well as on a number of tasks that a registrar should know.
At the meetings, it was noted that the population census is a large-scale event of a nationwide scale, which makes it possible to obtain a “photograph” of the country's population at a certain point in time and become a reliable source of information about the population.
The population census will help to obtain detailed information on the population of Uzbekistan in a certain period, its age, sex, religious and ethnic composition, marital status, education level, housing provision, economic activity, sources of income. It will also be used to calculate the distribution of macroeconomic indicators per capita and labor resources, as well as the migration situation.
Preparatory processes and training workshops aimed at conducting test census activities continue.
