On May 7 this year, at a plenary meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, which was also attended by the leadership and specialists of the State Committee on Statistics, the deputies considered and approved the draft Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Official Statistics".
The approved draft law consists of 7 chapters and 44 articles, in the process of improving 8 out of 17 basic concepts highlighted in the draft were combined into articles and their content was covered in more detail.
Separately, it was noted that during the seminars and discussions held in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the proposals and recommendations made by the deputies were taken into account.
As a result of the adoption of this law:
The national statistical system will be reformed in accordance with international standards and the activities of all bodies producing official statistical information in the country in the field of statistics will be regulated;
the needs of users for reliable, high-quality and up-to-date official statistical information will be met and the effectiveness of reforms to ensure the transparency of official statistics will be ensured.
Based on the results of the discussions, it was decided to adopt the bill and send the Oliy Majlis to the Senate.
