In accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 11, 2020 No. 710, from November 1 to 25, 2021, in the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region, the Yukori Chirchik district of the Tashkent region, the city of Khiva, the Khorezm region and the Yashnabad district of the city of Tashkent, it is planned to conduct a population census in a trial mode.
In 4 regions, where a pilot census is planned to be carried out in May of this year, the compilers of housing lists during the inventory of their site organized work to determine a list of all premises in which respondents live, temporarily stay or may live, and to check cartographic materials, apply corresponding marks.
Recently, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics Ziyadullaev Mahmudjon Djurakulovich got acquainted with the work carried out in the regions to prepare for a pilot census.
In particular, M. Ziyadullaev got acquainted with the preparatory work carried out in the city of Khiva for the pilot population census. The Deputy Chairman of the Committee provided the staff in charge of this process with the necessary suggestions and recommendations on what aspects should be paid attention to during the population census.
Mahmudjon Ziyadullaev paid special attention to the preparation of the drawing plans of the mahalla and rural settlements of the regions. He also noted that on the prepared maps it is necessary to clearly mark the boundaries of the existing makhalla gatherings of citizens and rural settlements, prepare their drawing plans on paper and electronic media, highlight the names of streets, residential and non-residential premises with special signs.
The population census will help to obtain detailed information on the population of Uzbekistan in a certain period, its age, sex, religious and ethnic composition, marital status, education level, housing provision, economic activity, sources of income. It will also be used to calculate the distribution of macroeconomic indicators per capita and labor resources, as well as the migration situation.
