The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), Eurostat and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) and the World Bank From 17 to 26 May, the meeting of the Group of Experts on National Accounts was organized via videoconference to discuss the update of the System of National Accounts 2008 (SNA 2008) and to discuss recent innovations in improving the timeliness and granularity of national accounts data.
The purpose of the meeting is to review the most recent achievements of the various task forces working to update the 2008 SNA on issues related to globalization, digitalization, well-being, sustainability and communications.
The meeting was attended by representatives of more than 30 countries, international experts, middle managers responsible for the compilation of national accounts and analysis of macroeconomic policies.
Abrorali Mamajanov, Deputy Head of the Department of Macroeconomic Indicators and National Accounts, took part in the meetings of the Expert Group on National Accounts.
The workshop presented the 2008 SNA update programs and Balance of Payments Guidelines, 6th edition, draft recommendations, and the country's experience in digitalization, with a focus on issues related to digital tables of resources and use, the valuation of free assets and free services, and the registration of crypto assets, in particular crypto assets without corresponding liability and acting as a medium of exchange, the results of SNA research, environmental and economic accounting, unpaid household activities, distribution accounts, health and social conditions, education and human capital.
Following the presentations, the participants shared the experience of their countries and held a discussion on topical issues on the agenda.
