On May 31 of this year, a press conference was held at the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the topic "Preliminary calculations of the cost of minimum consumer spending in Uzbekistan" with the participation of the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Ilham Norkulov, Deputy Minister of Finance Jamshid Abruev, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics Mahmudjon Ziyadullayev, UNICEF expert Umid Aliyev, World Bank expert Vinayak Nagaraj.
In it, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics Mahmudjon Ziyadullaev noted that Committee carries out various statistical surveys in accordance with the law “On State Statistics” and the “Program of State Statistical Works” approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, including, according to the recommendations of the World Bank, the committee conducts sample surveys in 10 thousands of households in the republic.
At the press conference, it was noted that in 2020, with the support of the World Bank, a survey was conducted in 5,400 households selected from all regions of the republic as an experiment to calculate the minimum consumer spending.
Recall that at a press conference on the topic “Preliminary calculations of the cost of minimum consumer spending in Uzbekistan”, it was noted that the minimum consumer spending, according to preliminary calculations, is 440 thousand soums.
