On June 8, 2021, a Regional Seminar devoted to nexus transformations "Energy resources - water resources - lands" in Central Asia was held via video conferencing.
The main objective of the workshop is to focus on learning the lessons and opportunities associated with the nexus to achieve resource security and resilience, and to promote economic development in the Central Asian region.
The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries and departments of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the research community, parliamentarians and international experts.
The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics at the seminar was represented by the Deputy Head of the Department of Industry Statistics - Atham Abdullaev and the specialist of the Sector of Ecology and Waste Management Statistics - Oybek Bobozhonov.
Participants reviewed a draft OECD policy document entitled Benefits of Regional Cooperation on Nexus Transformations “Energy - Water – Land” in Central Asia.
Following the presentation, participants discussed the draft document and developed policy proposals for presentation at the upcoming High-Level Regional Policy Dialogue event, which is scheduled for late 2021.
