On June 7-10, 2021, representatives of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics take part in the Forum of Experts for Producers and Users of Natural Disaster Statistics, which is organized in cooperation with the UNECE Task Force on Measuring Hazards and Natural Disasters, ESCAP and the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction.
The Forum is a global platform for the regular exchange of knowledge and experience in the production and use of natural disaster statistics, presenting key relevant policy frameworks and information requirements, including monitoring the Sendai Framework and its relationship to the SDGs and the Paris Agreement.
The Forum is attended by experts from disaster risk management authorities, representatives of the National Statistical Offices of Europe, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Asia-Pacific region, relevant government bodies, international organizations, academia and NGOs.
The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics at the Forum is represented by the Head of the Department of Statistical Observations of the Activities of Non-Profit Organizations, the Sphere of Culture and Tourism - Khairulla Khasanov and the Chief Specialist of the Department for the Formation of Consolidated Analytical Information on Statistics of Sustainable Development and Social Sectors - Aizhan Eralieva.
The Forum featured presentations by Ms Angela Ferruzza - National Institute for Statistics Italy, Ms Rahul Sengupta of the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, Ms Virginia Murray of Public Health England, Mr Michael Nagy of UNECE and others.
