In accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 11, 2020 No. 710, from November 1 to 25, 2021, in the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region, the Yukori Chirchik district of the Tashkent region, the city of Khiva, the Khorezm region and the Yashnabad district of the city of Tashkent, it is planned to conduct a pilot census.
A population census is a large-scale nationwide event that allows you to get a “photograph” of the population of a country at a certain point in time and become a reliable source of information about the population.
The event touched upon the organizational issues of the population census, approbation of software and hardware and technological data processing processes.
The specialists spoke in detail about the work done to date to prepare for the population census, as well as the tasks that need to be implemented in the future.
It should be noted that these events are organized on the basis of the recommendations of the European Conference of Statisticians for the 2020 Population and Housing Census.
The population census will help to obtain detailed information on the population of Uzbekistan in a certain period, its age, sex, religious and ethnic composition, marital status, education level, housing provision, economic activity, sources of income. It will also be used to calculate the distribution of macroeconomic indicators per capita and labor resources, as well as the migration situation.
