On April 23 of this year, a webinar was organized at the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for employees of the departments of Industry and energy Statistics of the Department of Statistics of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent on the status of ongoing work on industry statistics and the procedure for their formation, as well as further priorities.

At the beginning of the 2023/2024 academic year, the total number of girls admitted to colleges operating in the Republic of Uzbekistan was 22,801.

The permanent population of the Republic of Uzbekistan as of April 1, 2024 is 36,963.3 thousand people.

In order to prepare for the census process in the regions, statistical agencies, together with makhalla activists, are working on the basis of a schedule to study the status of setting the numbers of unnumbered houses in the makhalla and the condition of streets without nameplates.

As of April 1, 2024, there are 404,676 units operating in the republic. business entities (excluding farms and dekhkan farms).

In the Republic of Uzbekistan, in January-February 2024, large enterprises produced 397.3 tons of aluminum wire; compared to the corresponding period in 2023, the production volume increased 2.4 times.

In order to increase the share of the service sector in the country's economy, expand types and improve their quality, as well as to further support business entities in this direction, by Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 11, 2021 No. PP-5113 “On measures for the accelerated development of the service sector” target parameters for the development of the service sector in our country have been approved and their monitoring has been provided for.

From April 15 to 19, 2024, a regional seminar on calculating housing price indices organized by the International Monetary Fund was held in Tbilisi (Gruziya).

According to preliminary data, in January–March 2024, all categories of farms in the republic produced 544.8 thousand tons of meat in live weight.

The share of small businesses in the Republic of Uzbekistan for January-December 2023 in the total volume of industrial production amounted to 26.9 %, of which the largest share is accounted for by small enterprises (14.7 %).

In January-February 2024, rental and rental services reached 1,349.9 billion soums, their share in the total volume of services amounted to 1.7 %.

According to sample household surveys from the Statistics Agency, as of January-December 2023, the share of the population 10 years and older using the Internet to obtain information about goods or services was 12.0 %.

At the end of 2023, gross value added created in the service sector amounted to 437.8 trillion soums and, compared to 2022, increased in real terms by 6.8 %.

In January-February 2024, 155.9 thousand citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan entered the Republic of Uzbekistan for tourism purposes.

As of April 1, 2024, the total number of enterprises and organizations engaged in construction activities in the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 31 703 units.
