On October 11 of this year, a technical assistance mission on the consumer price index began online at the State Committee on Statistics. This mission will be conducted by Patrick Kelly, an IMF expert at the invitation of the IMF's Regional Capacity Development Center for the Caucasus, Central Asia and Mongolia.
The main objectives of the mission are weights for the CPI, sampling of outlets and handling seasonal and missing prices, calculating aggregate alternative and house price indices, and improving price statistics.
The staff of the Price Statistics Department and the Department of Living Standards Statistics and Population Surveys of the central office of the State Committee on Statistics are taking part in the work of this mission.
In accordance with the mission's program of work, on the first day, a discussion of the practice of forming price statistics by the State Committee on Statistics took place, it was attended by the responsible specialists of the Department of Price Statistics, headed by the head of the Department, Mukhtor Umarov.
The second day of the mission was devoted to the practice of surveying household budgets of the State Committee on Statistics and methods of calculating weights, the head of the Department of Living Standards Statistics and Population Surveys Umid Madaminov took part in the discussion.
This mission will last until October 15 this year.
