On November 13 this year, a meeting was held at the “Grand Mir Hotel” in the capital with the participation of representatives of the State Committee Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the CIS Statistical Committee, the US Census Bureau, international experts and media workers.

The participants of the event exchanged views on the pilot activities of the population census currently being carried out in Uzbekistan.

As noted, the population census is a large-scale event of a nationwide scale that allows you to get a “photograph” of the country's population at a certain point in time and is a reliable source of information about the population. The data of each citizen is of paramount importance in the conduct of a population census, since, first of all, detailed data are collected on such indicators as the specific population, age, sex, citizenship, ethnic composition, marital status, education, level of housing, employment, sources of income ...

Recall that from November 11, 2021, a pilot census is being conducted in the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region, the Yukori-Chirchik district of the Tashkent region, the city of Khiva in the Khorezm region and the city of Yashnabad in the Tashkent region.
