On November 29 of the current year, a technical assistance mission on price statistics started its work in online mode at the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics. This mission will be conducted by Mr. Ronan Lyons, IMF’s short-term expert on price statistics.
The objective of the mission will be to assist the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics with the development of residential property price index (RPPI).
In the course of work of the above-mentioned mission, the following themes will be discussed: general overview by the authorities regarding the current situation for residential property and residential property price indices (RPPIs); overview of potential data sources, with a particular focus on longer-run “ideal” datasets, such as administrative datasets; potential data sources for the short term, in particular surveys and online listings; introductions to methods for calculating the residential property price indices, including the residential property price indices (RPPIs) based on hedonic regressions; a detailed consideration of hedonic residential property price indices (RPPIs); as well as a review of potential next steps.
Muhtor Umarov – head of the Department of Price Statistics, Javohirbek Djamaldinov – head of the Division of Summary Analytical Information on Price Statistics / deputy head of the Department, Zayniddin Egamshukurov – head of the Division of Producers Price Statistics, responsible employees of the Division of Summary Analytical Information on Price Statistics, as well as responsible employees of the Division of Producers Price Statistics of the Department of Price Statistics of the Central Office of the State Committee on statistics will take part in the work of this mission.
This mission will last until December 3 of the current year.
