As of October 1, 2021, in all categories of farms in the Surkhandarya region, the total number of cattle amounted to 954.3 thousand heads (104.1% in relation to 1 October 2020), of which cows - 348.3 thousand heads (104.2%), sheep and goats - 2,435.0 thousand heads (103.3%), horses - 14.6 thousand heads ( 101.9%) and birds - 4 732.1 thousand heads (104.9%).
