On March 31, 2022, at 16:00, a press conference was held at the National Press Center on the topic “Results of the work done in 2021 as part of the state statistical work program”.

The event was attended by the leadership of the State Statistics Committee, heads of departments of the central office, representatives of the Institute for Advanced Training and Statistical Research, as well as media workers, journalists, bloggers.
2492 statistical work was completed on time and in full , of which 2011 were carried out by state statistical bodies and 481 by other ministries, departments and organizations .

For reference: The program of state statistical work was approved by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 11, 2021 No. 62 “On approval of the Program of state statistical work for 2021”.
Open statistical data, generated as a result of work carried out in accordance with the program of state statistical work, were regularly published for national and foreign users in the form of newsletters, collections, press releases, as well as through the media, official websites and social networks .

In particular, during 2021 on the official Telegram 8951 posts were published on the Committee's social media channel , 8951 on the Facebook page, and 595 on the Instagram page . More than 400 infographic videos and statistical materials are regularly broadcast on TV channels Uzbekistan 24, Uzreport and other private TV channels.
On the official website of the State Statistics Committee in the “Official Statistics” section, 330 collections of statistical data on macroeconomic indicators, national accounts, prices and indices, industry, agriculture, living standards and a number of other statistical areas have been published .

More than 70 materials containing statistical indicators have been published in such publications as " Khalk suzi" , " Narodnoe slovo " , " Yangi Ozbekiston " , " Pravda Vostoka " , " Economic newspaper " , " Birzha " , " Ishonch " and others .
The effective activity of the scientific-electronic journal " Statistical Bulletin of Uzbekistan " has been established , in which scientific articles, research and development results on topical issues of the country's economy and statistics are published.

38 new methodological manuals were developed in various areas of the statistical field and amendments and additions were made to 7 methodological manuals .
For the convenience of respondents, the statistical reporting system was improved using advanced information technologies, the eStat-4.0 information system was launched , as a result of which online acceptance of monthly and quarterly reports was established.

From 1 to 25 November 2021 A trial population census was conducted in Khodjaabad district of Andijan region, Yukori-Chirchik district of Tashkent region, Khiva city of Khorezm region and Yashnabad district of Tashkent city. It was attended by foreign experts, based on their proposals and recommendations at present preparations are underway for the main event of 2023.
In order to conduct Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys in the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the State Committee on Statistics and the United Nations Children's Fund ( UNICEF ), the first stage of surveys was conducted in April-July 2021, the second - in November 2021 - January 2022.

In addition, in order to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of the tasks defined by Decree No. 104 “On measures to expand and improve the statistical database in the field of agriculture ” dated February 26, 2021, a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “ On measures to prepare and conduct a census ” has been developed in the field of agriculture in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, agreed with the relevant ministries and departments and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers after public discussion.
As a result of the work carried out to improve the activities of the Open Data Portal , improve the quality and expand the coverage of information, the number of data sets published on the portal has exceeded 3600 . In particular, the number of collections of statistical data published by the State Statistics Committee on the portal amounted to 2041 .
In 2021, the Republic of Uzbekistan became the 23rd country to join the International Open Data Charter . For reference, among Asian countries, Uzbekistan joined this charter as a third country after South Korea and the Philippines.
According to Open Data Inspection, which is a comprehensive list of more than 2,600 open data portals developed by Open Data Soft, Uzbekistan ranked 5th among countries in the world in terms of the number of open data sources with 99 open data sources .
In January-December 2021, 45 questionnaires of international organizations were completed, including 10 from the UN Statistics Division, 5 from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, 3 from the Statistics Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), 9 from the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, 2 from the International Telecommunication Union, 1 from the Asian Development Bank and 15 questionnaires from other international organizations.
In addition, the statistical indicators of Uzbekistan were updated in a timely manner in 2 international databases, in particular, within the framework of the IMF's general system of expanded data dissemination, in the UN UNDATA and COMTRADE databases.
