On November 21-25, 2022, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Regional Capacity Development Center for the Caucasus, Central Asia and Mongolia organized a training seminar in Almaty, (Kazakhstan) on the topic “Government Finance Statistics and Public Sector Debt”.

The seminar was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank and the Statistical Service of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Farhod Ganiev, Deputy Head of the Department of Current Accounts of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, took part in the seminar.

The main goal of the seminar is to exchange experience between the participating countries, develop the knowledge and skills of participants in the field of government finance statistics and public sector debt statistics, as well as explore ways to improve the data sources needed to generate these indicators.
